Meet Uncle Gordon

What an amazing smile on a handsome man!! I just want to give him a big old hug! Love you Uncle Gordon!

Pure Love and Concern

I wanted to post this to show you what true love, everlasting love really looks like. These two beautiful people have been married for 69 years so far. And the sweetest part is that they still love each other very much. They hold hands and never speak to each other in harsh tones. And they still share their stories and laugh like it is the first time they have heard them. It is love, but it is so much more....respect, trust, faith, commitment and knowing there is someone that loves them without condition, now and forever. I truly see it as a love that will last beyond death. Aunt Maxine and Uncle Gordon, you can teach us all what it means to be happy. Get well quickly Aunt Maxine....we love you guys so much!!

Keep Them in Your Thoughts and Prayers

I have posted about this handsome little boy before, and I hate that I am posting about him again. He had been at home with his family enjoying the summer, but now they are back in Iowa City for more tests and treatments. I cannot imagine how they are dealing with all of this but I know they appreciate the prayers and positive healing thoughts. So if you have a minute today send some their way, and keep them in your thoughts as you go about your daily grind. If you watch the video, you may want a tissue on hand....what a beautiful video his mom has made. If you want to continue to follow his progress, go to the carepages website and search for colemanscott. And I believe you can still buy the bracelets to help support the family and to donate to the Ronald McDonald house....here is an earlier post with all the information if you have a couple of dollars to spare.

HOT CAR!!!!

Seriously, this was one of the hottest cars I have driven in a very long time! We named him Karl and he was very very good to us!!
This is my work friend Lesa and I love this picture!! Especially the deer butt on the right side of the picture! Not just anyone can get their picture taken with a deer butt and look that sexy doing it!!! :)
This cream cheese danish was treatin' her real good!
And, because we both have the mentality of a junior high boy, I had to take a picture of this sign to share!
Doesn't she look good driving Karl??!!!
Lesa and I had to go to Minneapolis for work on Tuesday and these pictures were taken on our long ass drive home!! I cannot even begin to explain how long this drive was! We left Minneapolis at 2:50 in the afternoon and didn't pull into the Des Moines airport till 10:30pm!! Now, this trip should have taken use about 4 1/2 hours, but simple math will tell you that was not the case! Between Minneapolis and the Iowa border we must have stopped every 5 miles trying to find wifi access so we could work on a loan that was blowin' up. Unfortunately, we didn't find it until we hit the first rest area on the Iowa side of I35. And we spent a good hour there trying to get everything cleared up. Because I suffer from a severe case of short term memory loss at the most inopportune times, I walked out of a Starbucks carrying the laptop in my hand, but leaving the laptop bag sitting beside one of their super comfy chairs. That wouldn't have been a big deal, except I didn't realize what I had done till we were 110 miles from said Starbucks location!!!! Who does that???? Seriously...who???? Of course anyone that knows me will not be at all surprised by this. Luckily our boss was staying an extra day in Minneapolis and he was able to pick it up this morning on his way back. Thank God cuz otherwise I was going to be making a flying trip back up there this weekend. Anyway, after all the stress and rage had passed, we made the most of the trip and laughed until we peed. I wont even try to repeat our conversations for you, but believe me when I tell you it was damn funny. We are the only two people I know that could have a hysterical conversation about the most random surgical procedure you could imagine. But dude...it was SO FUNNY!!! And we saw a business with the coolest name ever, but since I was not quick enough with the camera you will just have to go here and check it out for yourself. I am so going to be visiting this store sometime!! Well, enough of my rambling. Hope everyone is having a great week!!

2 Down, 3 More To Go

On Thursday I got to get the 2nd in a series of 5 shots for the arthritis in my knee. The stuff is called Supartz and let me tell you.....it hurts like hell!! The benefit is supposed to be well worth the pain, per my ortho, and he better be right!! Of course he is not the one getting needles shoved under his kneecaps so I am not sure how he knows this, but I am still taking his word for it. In other medical related news, little man stepped on a shard of glass this weekend, and bled like it had struck an artery! I cannot even begin to tell you how much blood there is on our back patio...god forbid someone disappears in our neighborhood cuz it looks like a murder has taken place out there! Who knew a foot could bleed like that??? But, it is all good now, and healing well. We keep pouring peroxide on it cuz I cant imagine an infection on the bottom of his foot would be a good thing. Saturday night the hubby and I went to the casino to donate some money to the state of Iowa, and did a pretty good job of doing just that. We took $200 and came home with $80, but I consider it a good night cuz we came home with any. And we did something we never ever do...stayed out till 5 in the morning! It is official...I am getting too damn old to pull an all nighter! But it was a good time and it was nice to spend some alone time with the hubby so it was well worth the lost sleep. And that friends is the extent of the excitement in our neck of the woods this weekend. Of course there was always Sunday night BINGO, and of course the hubby won again (and I did not) but that is just a regular occurrence and deserves no mention here!! ;) Oh, and PS---the pictures have nothing to do with the post, just wanted to throw up some pictures of 3 of my most favorite people!

Burda and Company

This was after a rip-roaring game of Apples to Apples on Thursday night...cuz that is how we roll around here! Non-stop fun and excitement at a dizzying pace! Critter was here too, but couldn't get him into the picture.

The 4Wheeler Is Pretty Popular!

My brother, his wife and their youngest came our for a few hours on Sunday, and I am guessing there are some jealous kids at his house today! He is in the red shirt (of course you know the white haired kid) and in the photo below, he is giving hints to my brother for a more fun and safe ride!
